Depaul HHPA Programme Expansion
Depaul Homeless Health Peer Advocacy Recognition Ceremony & Cork Programme Expansion
Objective
Depaul approached us to highlight the work of the Homeless Health Peer Advocates (HHPA) through a recognition ceremony and support the announcement of the programme’s expansion to Cork.
Background
Depaul’s Homeless Health Peer Advocacy (HHPA) programme has been instrumental in providing peer-led support to individuals living in homelessness, focusing on health advocacy, outreach, and support. With the success of the programme in Dublin, training 19 Peer Advocates and facilitating hundreds of health service interactions for people living in homelessness, Depaul planned to expand the HHPA programme to Cork. To celebrate this expansion and recognise the ongoing efforts of the peer advocates, a recognition ceremony was organised at the Millennium Hall in Cork City Hall.
Etch was engaged to manage the media relations and event logistics, ensuring the success of both the ceremony and the programme’s launch in Cork.
Our Response
Etch worked closely with Depaul to design and execute a comprehensive media strategy in support of the programme expansion and recognition ceremony, mindful of the sensitive nature of the programme’s work. This included careful preparation of all media materials and Q&A documents to ensure consistent and clear messaging. This groundwork was crucial in setting the tone for the event and aligning all communications efforts.
To elevate the peer advocates & work and highlight the programme’s expansion, Etch managed event logistics by coordinating with the venue and local suppliers. In the run-up to the event, Etch shared save-the-dates with select journalists and offered exclusive interview opportunities with key Depaul spokespersons.
On the morning of the event, a press release was issued to national and local media across print, digital, and broadcast platforms to maximise exposure. Interviews were coordinated with Depaul spokespeople and members of the HHPA programme.
Results
Media Coverage: Achieved 27 pieces of media coverage.
Reach: Generated 3,149,018 opportunities to see, hear, or read about Depaul’s HHPA programme and its expansion to the Cork region.
